PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Town of Erie Public Art Program is seeking qualified, professional artists or artist team to design, fabricate, and install a permanent outdoor sculpture and lighting within a newly developed roundabout located at E. This RFQ invites artists to submit their qualifications only. No design proposals are requested at this stage. Finalists will be selected to develop site-specific proposals and receive a stipend of $1,000.

Project Goals & Vision

The Town of Erie aims to commission a sculpture that:

  • Creates an iconic, durable, and visually striking focal point.

  • Enhances the sense of place and community pride.

  • Reflects Erie's identity, landscapes, culture, or forward-looking vision.

  • Is appropriate for 360° viewing by motorists and pedestrians.

  • Is designed for long-term outdoor exposure with minimal maintenance.

  • Meets safety and transportation visibility requirements for a roundabout.
