PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Town of Erie Public Art Program is seeking qualified, professional artists or artist team to design, fabricate, and install a permanent outdoor sculpture and lighting within a newly developed roundabout located at E. County Line Rd. & Austin Ave. This high-visibility artwork will serve as a community landmark, enhance civic identity, and reflect the values, history, or natural environment of Erie.
This RFQ invites artists to submit their qualifications only. No design proposals are requested at this stage. Finalists will be selected to develop site-specific proposals and receive a stipend of $1,000.
Project Goals & Vision
The Town of Erie aims to commission a sculpture that:
Creates an iconic, durable, and visually striking focal point.
Enhances the sense of place and community pride.
Reflects Erie's identity, landscapes, culture, or forward-looking vision.
Is appropriate for 360° viewing by motorists and pedestrians.
Is designed for long-term outdoor exposure with minimal maintenance.
Meets safety and transportation visibility requirements for a roundabout.
